Privacy Policy for Weave

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile application Weave (com.infinity.weaveapp), developed by Harshvardhan Sharma. Weave respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the data you share with us.
To provide our core features, account functionality, and a personalized community experience, Weave collects the following data:
- Account Credentials (Email Address): Collected during sign-up/login solely for account authentication, user verification, and secure account recovery. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name, email address, and profile photo your account chooses to share with us, used the same way as an email/password account.
- User-Generated Content (UGC): We collect and store data that you voluntarily create and upload within the app, including posts, text, images, videos (clips), community banners, and profile information. This data is transmitted to our secure servers to make your content visible to your communities as intended by the app’s functionality.
- Direct Messages: Messages you send to other users are stored to deliver and display your conversations. Unlike public posts, direct messages are only visible to the sender and recipient.
- Device Push Tokens: If you enable notifications, we store a device-specific token used only to deliver push notifications to your device (e.g., new messages, community activity). This token is not used for any other purpose.
- Analytics and Usage Data: We use Mixpanel and Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens are visited and which features are used — so we can improve the app. This includes device information (such as device type and OS version) and in-app event activity. This data is not sold or used for third-party advertising.
2. Device Permissions Used
Weave requests specific device permissions to enable interactive features. These permissions are executed strictly with your explicit consent:
- Camera Permission: Used exclusively when you choose to capture real-time photos or videos to upload directly into your posts, clips, profile pictures, or community banners. No media is captured or transmitted in the background without your active input.
- Photo Library Permission: Used when you choose to select existing photos or videos from your device to upload as posts, clips, profile pictures, or community banners.
- Microphone Permission: Used when recording video clips that include audio. Audio is only captured as part of a video you actively choose to record.
3. Data Protection and Third-Party Sharing
- Data Security: We implement standard, industry-reasonable security measures to protect your personal information and uploaded media from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
- No Third-Party Selling: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data, email addresses, or user-generated media to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
- Service Providers: We use the following infrastructure and service providers to operate Weave, each of which processes data solely to provide their respective service to us:
- Firebase / Google Cloud (Google LLC) — authentication, database, cloud functions, and analytics.
- Mixpanel — in-app analytics.
- Cloudflare — media upload processing.
- Bunny.net — video hosting and delivery.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — optional account sign-in methods, only used if you choose them.
4. Children’s Privacy
Weave is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below.
5. User Control, Data Access, and Deletion
We believe in giving you full control over your digital footprint. Inside the Weave application, you can natively edit or permanently delete your user-generated content (posts, images, clips, and profile details) at any time.
If you wish to completely delete your account and remove your associated email address from our authentication database, you may do so via the in-app settings or by contacting us directly at the support email listed below.
